We have zero tolerance for child abuse in any form
Our Commitment to Every Child and Young Person at Studio V
At Studio V School of Dance, the safety and wellbeing of every child and young person in our care is our highest priority.
We are committed to creating an environment where every student feels safe, respected, valued, and empowered — in every class, every rehearsal, every performance, and every interaction.
We commit to:
- Acting in the best interest of children and young people at all times
- Providing a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all students regardless of background, ability, identity, or circumstance
- Listening to children and young people, taking their concerns seriously, and responding promptly and appropriately
- Empowering students to understand their rights – including their right to feel safe, to be heard, and to speak up
- Ensuring all staff, contractors, and volunteers are appropriately screened, trained, and supported to uphold child safety in every aspect of their role
- Maintaining professional, respectful, and appropriate boundaries in all interactions with students
- Preventing, identifying, and responding to any risk of harm to a child or young person
- Regularly reviewing and improving our child safety practices
- Reporting all child safety concerns to the appropriate authorities in accordance with our legal obligations
- Respecting and valuing the diversity of all children and young people, and fostering an inclusive environment where every student feels safe, supported, and respected.
- Engaging openly and transparently with families and the community about our child safe approach
Our Child Safety & Wellbeing Policy
Studio V’s Child Safety & Wellbeing Policy addresses all 11 Victorian Child Safe Standards and is available in full on the Studio V website and upon request. All staff, contractors, and volunteers are required to read, understand, and comply with this policy as a condition of their engagement with Studio V.
Our child safety policies and procedures are reviewed annually and updated in line with legislative requirements and best practice.

Child Safety Officer
Studio V has appointed a Child Safety Officer who is responsible for overseeing child safety compliance, receiving and responding to child safety concerns, and ensuring our policies are implemented effectively.

Families, students, staff, and community members are welcome to contact the Child Safety Officer at any time with any concern or question about child safety at Studio V.
How to Raise a Concern
Studio V encourages anyone - including students, families, staff, volunteers, or members of the public - to raise a child safety concern at any time. No concern is too small. You will always be taken seriously.
Speak to any Studio V teacher or staff member: Any Studio V staff member can receive a child safety concern and will escalate it to the Child Safety Officer.

Contact external authorities: If you believe a child is in immediate danger, contact Victoria Police on 000. For child protection concerns, contact Child Protection on 13 12 78.
