At Studio V, our students enjoy a rich and well-rounded dance experience. They have the opportunity to participate in regular class training, examinations, competitions, dance conventions, productions, summer school programs, and our much-loved annual end-of-year concert — a highlight of the year that celebrates growth, confidence, and achievement on stage.
Studio V is a proud member of the Southern Federation of Dance (SFD), a respected not-for-profit organisation established in Australia in 1988. Through SFD, our students are supported by a nationally recognised syllabus that promotes strong technical foundations, artistic development, and a lifelong love of dance.

Vassie Catalano discovered her passion for dance at an early age, demonstrating exceptional ability in Jazz and earning the prestigious
Southern Federation of Dance Major Jazz Scholarship in 1998. At just 17 years of age, she completed her
SFD Teachers Certificate, marking the beginning of a lifelong commitment to excellence in dance education.
In recognition of her significant contribution to the dance industry, Vassie was awarded the
Southern Federation of Dance Outstanding Achievement Award in 2023 — a highly regarded honour acknowledging her leadership, dedication, and impact within the dance community.
For over
25 years, Studio V has delivered high-quality dance education across all styles, fostering technical excellence, confidence, and artistry. Vassie has collaborated with respected industry professionals and proudly mentored countless students who have gone on to pursue
professional dance and performing arts careers.
Our Story
Established in 2001, Studio V is a welcoming dance studio in Heidelberg, Melbourne, with six studio spaces across Heidelberg, Ivanhoe East and Macleod. Built on a strong community of dedicated students, families and teachers, the studio fosters an inclusive and supportive environment where every dancer feels at home. Studio V combines strong technical training with a genuine love of dance, creating a space where students can grow with confidence.
In 2019, Studio V celebrated its 20-year milestone by taking 50 students to Los Angeles, where they performed at Disneyland and Universal Studios and trained at world-renowned LA dance studios. This extraordinary international experience was proudly repeated in 2024, reflecting Studio V’s ongoing commitment to providing aspirational and life-changing opportunities for its students.
Studio V offers a wide range of dance pathways to suit each student’s goals, whether dancing for fun, pursuing exams, or training for competitions and production teams. With classes for all ages - from toddler and kinder programs, to kids classes, through to adult and open classes - there is something for every age and stage. Class sizes are carefully managed to support each student’s development, with a strong focus on safe dance practice to build strength, confidence and longevity.
Today, Studio V continues to inspire the next generation of performers, nurturing a lifelong love of dance and warmly welcoming new students to be part of its community.
